Mohd Gaafar achieved his academic
qualifications from Munofeia University in Egypt which refers to B.Com – Major
Accounting in 1989 as well as B.Sc in General Agriculture Science in 1979.
He achieved professional
qualification from Chartered Insurance Institute, London UK in 2001 – and Chartered
Insurer title was granted in May 2005. He continued professional designation
with American Insurance Institute – Chartered of Property & casualty
underwriters – CPCU and passed 6 subjects out of 8 (Two subjects are only remaining).
His
experience in insurance / reinsurance industry refers to more than 26 years
(started on 01.02.1990) up to date, eighteen years of which was with "The
Egyptian Reinsurance Company” - the first established professional Reinsurance
Company in the Middle east. His experience was highly exposed to a wide range
of insurance & reinsurance disciplines - i.e reinsurance underwriting
Marine cargo, Fire underwriting , General
Accident and causality underwriting -
Engineering & Energy underwriting- claims management, - technical accounts,
- budgets, and financial statements, and internal audit – insurance practice.
Moving to GCC - Sultanate of Oman in Nov., 2007 and working with direct
insurers was expanded the scope of experience to include valued expertise to
managing motor business, group life, group medical life, credit life assurance
schemes – Individual term life
assurance.
